The University of Iowa College of Engineering hosted a group of faculty members and administrators Oct. 21 from various universities in India.

The group met with Alec Scranton, dean of the College of Engineering; Kari Kozak, librarian for the Lichtenberger Engineering Library; and Karim Abdel-Malek, professor of biomedical engineering and director of the Center for Computer-Aided Design (CCAD). They toured several laboratories at CCAD.

The visit to the UI was a part of trips to several other universities in the U.S. Coordinating the Iowa visit was Jasbir Arora, professor of civil and environmental engineering and associate director of CCAD.

The visit was sponsored by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

One of the major objectives of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations.
