The Cy-Hawk trophy is back in Iowa City and resting comfortably inside the Hayden Fry Football Complex.

The University of Iowa used a dominant ground game to leave Ames with a 27-21 victory over intrastate rival Iowa State on Saturday. The Hawkeyes collected 218 rushing yards, led by junior Mark Weisman's 148 yards on 35 carries.

The Hawkeye defense collected two incredibly athletic interceptions at crucial points in the contest to help seal the victory. Senior James Morris deflected a pass with under a minute to play in the first half, caught the tip and put the Hawkeyes in field goal range. B.J. Lowery produced the play of the year so far in the early season, making an acrobatic, one-handed interception in the fourth quarter.

Iowa returns to action inside Kinnick Stadium this Saturday against Western Michigan at 11 a.m. The game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network (BTN).
