Year three and bigger than ever. The pre-semester On Iowa! program drew thousands of new UI students to an Aug. 21-25 series of events designed to build community and offer a running start for the fall 2013 semester.
For the first time, On Iowa! welcomed both first-year and new transfer students to the Aug. 23 kickoff at Kinnick Stadium, events designed to promote academic success and campus engagement, and the annual Convocation and President’s Block Party.

“We’ve come a long way in three years,” says Sarah Hansen, assistant vice president for student life assessment and strategic initiatives. Ultimately, she points out, the program and its success are all about students.
“There’s something special about the Class of 2017,” Hansen adds. “From the beginning, they’ve been all in. What a great group of people to welcome to the Hawkeye family.”
