University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the third annual Center for Diversity and Enrichment and Office of Graduate Inclusion Graduation and Recognition Reception.

The event will be held Thursday, May 16, with the doors opening at 3 p.m. and a reception from 3:15 to 4 p.m., followed by a program from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge.

The reception honors the academic and leadership achievements of underrepresented students who, through their efforts or accomplishments, have exemplified, promoted, or contributed to cultural, racial, or ethnic diversity on campus.

The event has changed this year from a banquet format to a reception format including beverages and appetizers being served, free of charge.

Though the event is free and open to the public, registration is required by Wednesday, May 1. Graduates can register by visiting uiowa.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9SqXbGoZd3sB3Rq and family and friends of graduates can register by visiting provost.uiowa.edu/grb/friends.

The UI Chief Diversity Office is funding the event. For more information, visit diversity.uiowa.edu/cde/cdeogi-graduation-recognition-reception.
