The University of Iowa Mock Trial programs sent two teams to compete at the Kansas City Regional Tournament Feb. 9 and 10 with the hopes of earning two bids to ORCS, the Opening Round Championship Series.

Team 1479, captained by senior Katy Kinney and junior Edward Rodriguez, went 6-2, picking up victories over the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Morningside College, and St. Thomas College.

Kinney received an outstanding attorney award for her performance and was joined in the individual performance award ranks by fellow seniors James Adams and Jacob Bogolia, who both received outstanding witness awards. Team 1480, captained by senior Alyssa Carlson and sophomore Hiliary Tasma, did not receive a bid; however, they did have the highest competition strength points of any team at the regional.

Teams 1481 and 1482 will compete this weekend at the Cedar Rapids Regional with hopes of receiving additional bids to ORCS.
