Students from the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business and College of Law will again provide free tax return preparation services to qualifying persons this year as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

Last year, VITA volunteers completed 924 returns and helped taxpayers receive nearly $1.4 million in refunds.

The service begins Jan. 30 and runs through April 14. Trained tax preparers will be available on various dates and times at the Iowa City Public Library, Northwest Junior High School, Southeast Junior High School, Garner Elementary School and the Pappajohn Business building in Iowa City. Spanish translators will be available at the library and Northwest Junior High School.

For a complete schedule of dates at each location and the terms of eligibility, visit tippie.uiowa.edu/bap/vita/locations.html or email vita@uiowa.edu.
