University of Iowa Mock Trial (UIMT) sent three teams to St. Paul, Minn. Dec. 1-2 to compete at Macalester College. It also sent one team to New Haven, Conn. to compete at Yale University.

At Macalester the three teams were entered into a field of 30 for four rounds of mock trial, and at the conclusion of these rounds the teams walked out of Macalester with four awards. Team 1479, captained by juniors Hyder Chowdry and Michael Tabor, placed seventh overall with a record of 5-3 picking up wins over Grinnell College, Drake University, and the University of Minnesota. Team 1480, captained by senior Dan Tallon and junior Hannah Graber, went 4-4 and beat teams from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Drake. Team 1481, captained by sophomores Storm Miller and Kelly Daniels earned victories over Hamline University and the University of South Dakota.

In New Haven, Iowa went 6-6 in four rounds with three judges. They competed against teams from George Washington University, Boston College, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Florida.

The teams also recorded three individual awards for outstanding attorney. Miller and sophomore Hiliary Tasma each received 18 ranks and an attorney award. Daniels received a perfect 20 ranks.
