Enjoy the view from the Macbride Nature Recreation Area bird blind
TurkeyA handful of turkeys have nothing to fear this Thanksgiving. The wild turkey pictured above is having his own Thanksgiving of sorts at the bird blind at the Macbride Nature Recreation Area.

The Macbride Nature Recreation Area, located about 15 miles north of Iowa City on Mehaffey Bridge Road, is home to hiking and cross-country ski trails, the Macbride Raptor Project, various environmental education programs, and the bird blind.

The bird blind is part of the Macbride Raptor Center complex and is exactly what it sounds like, a place to watch birds. Several different types of feeders are kept filled to attract a wide variety of birds. Iowa Now spent a couple hours at the bird blind recently to see what happened by.
