Childish Gambino, the rapper persona of writer/actor/comedian Donald Glover, will perform in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union Monday, April 16. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m.

Childish Gambino, the rapper persona of writer/actor/comedian Donald Glover, will perform in Iowa City on Monday, April 16.

Glover may be best known for his role as Troy Barnes in the NBC comedy Community. He has also written for the Daily Show and 30 Rock, and starred in the film Mystery Team.

Since releasing his critically acclaimed album, CAMP, in November, Glover, as Childish Gambino, has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in music. His unique genre of hip-hop and lyrical genius has taken him from an artist with a viral cult following to a mega sensation.

The New Yorker praises, "With a vocal attack reminiscent of Pharcyde's Bootie Brown, Glover delivers rapid-fire stream-of-consciousness one-liners, along with in-depth and intelligent assessments of the recording industry, fame, and fortune."

Tickets are $26 and can be purchased at the University of Iowa Box Office, located in the Iowa Memorial Union, and all other Ticketmaster locations.
