The University of Iowa is allocating $4.9 million to boost faculty pay. The funds will help reach a goal of raising the average faculty salary for full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty to 95 percent of the median of the university’s peer group.

The UI Office of the Provost announced Friday, May 5, the final candidate for the position of dean of the UI College of Nursing. Julie Johnson Zerwic, executive associate dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will visit campus May 8–9.

The Office of the Provost announced Tuesday, May 2, the third candidate for the position of dean of the College of Nursing. Elizabeth J. Corwin, professor and associate dean for research at the Emory University School of Nursing and Department of Physiology, will visit campus Wednesday and Thursday, May 3–4.

Honors Four UI faculty members win top teaching award

Four University of Iowa faculty members have won the 2017 President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence in recognition of their years of outstanding teaching. The recipients are Meenakshi Gigi Durham, Julie Jessop, Russell Larsen, and Thomas Oetting.
