The University of Iowa has named Melissa Shivers the next vice president for student life. Shivers has 20 years of experience serving students and is currently associate vice chancellor for student life and dean of students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, a role she has held since June 2014.

The University of Iowa and the city of Iowa City are rolling out the mobile parking service PassportParking, which allows drivers to pay for parking at meters on campus and around the city using smartphones, tablets, or any other electronic device. However, drivers can still pay with coin or card.
