Honors ‘Forbes’ again ranks UI Health Care among ‘America’s Best Employers’

For the third year in a row, “Forbes Magazine” has included University of Iowa Health Care in its annual listing of the nation’s top employers. In the 2017 “Forbes” rankings of “America’s Best Employers,” UI Health Care was named the No. 5 employer in the health care industry and No. 14 overall.

UI students help public interpret DNA ancestry tests

Student group educates those interested in ordering a genetic test or interpreting the results
UI students are helping Iowans better understand their ancestry and their DNA. Under the supervision of faculty adviser Bryant McAllister, associate professor in the UI Department of Biology, the students participate in monthly meetings to educate those in the community interested in ordering a DNA test or interpreting results.

UI vice president for medical affairs to step down from leadership positions

The University of Iowa today announced that Jean E. Robillard, vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, plans to step down from his leadership role overseeing UI Health Care.

Appointments Abel to lead Iowa Neuroscience Institute

In his new role at the UI, Ted Abel will build a collaborative community of scientists and clinicians to foster interdisciplinary research and training in neuroscience and to support translational research in disorders of the brain and nervous system.

Abstracts sought for patient safety symposium

UI Health Care faculty and staff are encouraged to share innovations in patient safety and quality improvement, education, and research at the Fourth Annual Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Symposium. Works in progress are also welcome.
