The University of Iowa’s world-renowned bicycle frame–building courses bring together art and engineering students to answer the question “How do you build a bike?” Conceived by art professor Steve McGuire in 2010, Fabrication and Design: Hand Built Bicycle has become the model for how to build a university bike-building course.

James Bleakley, who designs and builds bicycles, will present the University of Iowa Museum of Art’s annual Jeanne and Richard Levitt Lectureship: American Crafts in Context on Thursday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Room 240 of Art Building West. The event is free and open to the public.
