Book Matters: Louisa Hall and Bennett Sims in conversation with Donika Kelly promotional image

Join us for a reading and discussion, co-sponsored by Prairie Lights, to celebrate recent works from Louisa Hall and Bennett Sims, faculty in the University of Iowa Department of English. After the reading, Donika Kelly, associate professor of English, will join Hall and Sims for a conversation and Q&A with the audience. Light refreshments will follow.

Louisa Hall, associate professor of English, will read from her 2023 novel, Reproduction,  the story of a woman attempting to write a novel about Mary Shelley, then turning, instead, to write a contemporary Frankenstein.

Bennett Sims, associate professor of English, will read from Other Minds and Other Stories, his collection of 12 stories that guide the reader through  the paranoia and obsession of everyday horrors, not least the horrors of overthinking what other people might be thinking.
