McMullen earns International Teaching Engagement Award

Ronald McMullen, the university's Ambassador in Residence and lecturer in the Department of Political Science, has been awarded the 2018-19 International Engagement Teaching Award by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and International Programs. The award recognizes faculty members who excel at integrating internationalism into their teaching.

The Daily Iowan won first-place awards in 13 categories at the annual Iowa Newspaper Association Awards in Des Moines. The student-run newspaper finished second overall in General Excellence among daily newspapers with a circulation under 10,000. The awards were announced Feb. 8 during the INA annual banquet.

Physicists at the University of Iowa have successfully measured the movement history of particles in an ionized gas increasingly used in the high-tech industry. The researchers measured the quantum-state history of individual particles and then used that information to track the movement of entire groups.
