The University of Iowa School of Music will present a faculty recital by Jeffrey Agrell, associate professor of horn, at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 11, in the University Capitol Centre Recital Hall in downtown Iowa City. A UI undergraduate student and his UI colleagues have discovered one way in which the bubble of electrically charged particles around Saturn, also known as Saturn's magnetosphere, changes with the planet's seasons. The finding could change how we view the Earth's magnetosphere. Results appear in the Journal of Geophysical Research. Story
A University of Iowa study shows that older people can put off the aging of their minds by playing a simple game that primes their processing speed skills. The research showed participants' cognitive skills improved in a range of functions, from improving peripheral vision to problem solving. Results published in the journal "PLOS One." Story
