Iowa City and University of Iowa will join with activists around the world at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, for "One Billion Rising," the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. Story
During the month of November, people will see red flags on the University of Iowa campus as part of The Red Flag campaign, spearheaded by the UI Men's Anti-Violence Council and the UI Women's Resource and Action Center, to educate college students about dating violence. Story
Men are marching in cherry red stiletto-heeled shoes to put an end to sexual violence. The second annual UI Walk a Mile in her Shoes will be Sunday, Sept. 30, raising both awareness about sexual assault prevention and funds for the Rape Victim Advocacy Program. Story
