New portal centralizes access student records, resources, courses
Monday, April 25, 2016

Students can now access their UI information and records, course websites, and a host of key resources through a new student portal at MyUI.uiowa.edu.

MyUI replaces the Iowa Student Information System (ISIS) and provides a convenient one-stop hub to the university systems, applications, and sites students use on a daily basis.

Once logged into MyUI, users can perform the same critical tasks they could in ISIS—register for classes, view grades, pay U-bills, apply for financial aid, perform degree audits, check course schedules or academic calendars, and make academic advising appointments. The course catalog is also available at the site, and that element is open for anyone to browse, even without HawkID authentication.

Along with the student-information functions, MyUI provides access to student learning tools: Iowa Courses Online (ICON), ACE Online course evaluations, and clicker registration.

It also points to helpful student-life links: career services, health and safety services, events calendars, student government, activities, athletics, email, Hawk Alert preferences, and HawkTools (a website and mobile app that contains real-time bus locations, laundry availability, maps, dining menus, and much more).

The Iowa Student Information System was established in 1989. Last year, the UI began to minimize use of the ISIS acronym to avoid confusion with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, and in December the university decided to change the name and develop the new portal.

The campus is asked to please update all references and links to reflect the new MyUI name and website, MyUI.uiowa.edu. Website redirects are in place to point users to the new portal.
