Workers will use a crane to inspect and repair a pulley system in the dome of the University of Iowa’s Old Capitol Museum Thursday morning, Jan. 15.

The system, used to raise and lower the U.S. and State of Iowa flags, became jammed in early December.

Trina Roberts, director of the UI Pentacrest Museums, will be available at the site from 9 to 9:30 a.m. to answer media questions.

Note to media: Photo/video access is limited to ground level outside the Old Capitol. A repair team member will take photos of the interior of the dome, and those will be shared Thursday afternoon.
