Community gathers to add personal touch to new Hancher Auditorium

Hancher Auditorium is halfway home, so to speak. The Leave Your Mark event, held Oct. 7 and 8, was conceived to celebrate this milestone in the construction process.

Hancher and Mortenson Construction invited the public to sign a steel beam on Oct. 7 and the morning of Oct. 8; that beam was then placed in the new building midday on the 8th. Leave Your Mark also included a public ceremony featuring singer/songwriter Susan Werner.

Over 1,000 craftworkers have expended nearly 300,000 hours on the Hancher project to date. Leave Your Mark honors their work and commitment while allowing the public to note this key moment in the building’s construction.
