Professor Mani Subramanian and his colleagues demonstrate how caffeine dehydrogenase, when combined with a dye solution, can show the caffeine content in soft drinks.

Mani Subramanian, director of the UI Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing, describes a discovery that may one day lead to the development of a cheap and easy test to determine how much caffeine is present in beverages.
