Iowa State Fair exhibit features large-as-life photos of UI alumni

Life-size photographs of recent University of Iowa graduates who are living and working in Iowa communities will grace the walls of the UI’s exhibit at the Iowa State Fair, Aug. 7-17 in Des Moines.
The photos, taken by UI photographer Bill Adams, are part of the UI’s “for IOWA” campaign to share stories of how the university provides Iowans with a world-class education, keeps families healthy, builds businesses, and makes life better through social and cultural outreach.
The exhibit will be located in the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building on the State Fairgrounds.
Alumni to be featured are:
Jordan Brauns, 2013 graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and management. A native of Muscatine, Iowa, he is a financial and tax consultant for the Iowa Farm Business Association in Nichols, Iowa.
Kimberly Frees, 2014 graduate with a Doctor of Nursing Practice Pediatrics degree. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner with the Pediatrics UnityPoint Clinic in Hiawatha, Iowa. She is a native of North Liberty, Iowa.
Rachel Hahn, 2011 graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical and biochemical engineering. She is a maintenance and reliability training coordinator for General Mills in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is a native of Stockton, Illinois.
Abbie Otto, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in health and sport studies in 2008 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014. She and her husband have relocated to their hometown of Holstein, Iowa, where they purchased an existing dental practice from retiring dentist Myron Murphy.
Andrew Quillin, 2013 graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and sports business. He is stadium operations manager with the Iowa Cubs in Des Moines. Andrew is a native of Chariton, Iowa.
Michelle Terwilliger, 2014 graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She is a pharmacy manager with Thrifty White Pharmacy in Webster City, Iowa. Terwilliger is a native of Humboldt, Iowa.
Zachary Veigulis, 2014 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in health and human physiology. He works as a health information specialist in the Veterans Administration Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, which is also his hometown.
More than 200 UI alumni, faculty, staff, students, and I-Club members will volunteer at the booth giving away Hawkeye football posters, schedule cards, temporary Tiger Hawk tattoos, and "forIOWA" items. In addition, daily drawings will be held for Hawkeye athletics events, bobble-head dolls, and street banners from the 2013 football season.
Herky and the Iowa Spirit Squad will greet Hawkeye fans from 5 to 9 p.m. on each of the following days: Thursday, Aug. 7; Friday, Aug. 8; Saturday, Aug. 9; Friday, Aug. 15; and Saturday, Aug. 16.
The UI Office of Admissions will staff the booth every day of the fair to provide information to prospective students and their parents on UI educational programs, scholarships, and financial aid opportunities.
In addition, daily exhibitors will represent many UI departments and organizations that provide services and outreach across the entire state.
