'Cave of Forgotten Dreams' to be screened March 9
Tuesday, March 4, 2014

The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History will explore the origins of human culture with a free, public screening of Cave of Forgotten Dreams at 3 p.m. Sunday March 9, as part of the “Movies@MNH” program series.

This extraordinary documentary by Werner Herzog follows an exclusive expedition into the nearly inaccessible Chauvet Cave in France, home to the most ancient visual art known to have been created by man. Cave of Forgotten Dreams provides a unique glimpse of pristine artwork dating back to human hands more than 30,000 years ago—almost twice as old as any previous discovery.

In April, Movies@MNH will begin its Earth Month series, featuring a different film on sustainability and environmentalism each Sunday of the month.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all UI-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, contact the Pentacrest Museums in advance at 319-335-2010.
