UI researchers develop probe to find staph infections

UI assistant professor of internal medicine James McNamara and colleagues have developed a probe that can detect an enzyme given off by the staph bacteria, allowing doctors to find staph infections in 90 minutes rather than waiting up to 24 hours for lab analysis.
