University of Iowa President Sally Mason expresses her appreciation to Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad for his FY 2015 budget recommendations for the UI, particularly the 4 percent increase in general university operating appropriations, which will allow the university to freeze tuition for its students for a second consecutive year. This level of support for UI students is an important contributor to their success.

Mason also expresses thanks for the governor’s support of $2 million for the Pharmacy Building replacement project. The university is grateful for the governor’s recognition of the critical need for a new building to support the continued success of the UI Pharmacy program, and especially pharmacy students

The university looks forward to working with the governor and the Iowa legislature in the 2014 legislative session in support of the governor’s recommendations for the UI.
