The University of Iowa School of Music will present a free faculty chamber concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in Riverside Recital Hall on the UI campus.

The concert will feature the winner of the first University of Iowa String Area Competition winner: cellist Tom Maples, a graduate student of UI faculty member Anthony Arnone. Maples will join faculty members Katie Wolfe and Scott Conklin, violins; Christine Rutledge, viola; and Volkan Orhon, double bass, in a performance of the Dvorak String Quintet in G Major.

Also included on the program is Mozart's String Quintet in C Major, K. 515, performed by faculty members Conklin and Wolfe, violins; Rutledge and Elizabeth Oakes, violas; and Arnone, cello. The program will open with Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf's Duetto for viola and double bass, with Rutledge and Orhon.

The School of Music is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
