The University of Iowa will announce the results of its latest Hawkeye Poll of likely presidential election voters in key battleground states, including Iowa, during a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in 302 Schaeffer Hall, 20 East Washington St., on the UI campus.

Frederick Boehmke, associate professor of political science in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and faculty adviser of the Hawkeye Poll, will announce the results.

Prior to the 2008 Iowa Caucus, the Hawkeye Poll was the first to see Barack Obama moving closer to then-leader Hillary Clinton among Democratic caucus-goers, and to indicate Mike Huckabee was gaining traction with Republicans. Obama and Huckabee would go on to win the state’s first-in-the-nation caucus in January 2008.

Poll results will be announced less than one week from Election Day.
