11th Hour events are free

The 11th Hour makes the expertise of the Iowa Summer Writing Festival available to the public, free of charge.

The series of events—11 a.m. weekdays June 11 through July 27 (with the exception of July 4 week) in Room 101 of Biology Building East on the University of Iowa campus—includes presentations on topics of interest to anyone interested in writing and literature. Fridays are reserved for faculty readings.

The June 13 event, a part of the MusicIC Festival, will take place in the University Capitol Centre Recital Hall.

The Iowa Summer Writing Festival, based in the only UNESCO City of Literature in the United States, is designed to benefit writers at all levels of experience and achievement. In small groups, adult writers of all ages from throughout the country share, read, and discuss their work under the leadership of accomplished writer/educators.

Many of the workshop leaders are graduates of UI writing programs and include faculty members at other prominent institutions of higher learning.
