Construction to affect traffic near UI Hospitals and Clinics May 5-10

Beginning Saturday, May 5, and continuing through Thursday, May 10, Hawkins Drive will be closed just north of Evashevski Drive to the entrance to the Center for Disabilities and Development during the evening/overnight hours (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.).

Motorists can use Hawkins Drive from Melrose Avenue to access both the main entrance to UI Hospitals and Clinics and the south entrance to Parking Ramp 3 (off Evashevski Drive).

The Hawkins Drive closure is a safety measure as part of a project to install glass panels on the new skyway—currently under construction—that will connect Hospital Parking Ramp 3 to the hospital.
