The UI College of Dentistry appointed two new departmental executive officers in early March.

Steven Armstrong

Steven Armstrong became DEO of the Department of Operative Dentistry March 1. He received his dental degree from the UI in 1987, then completed a general practice residency at the U.S. Air Force base in Langley, Virginia.

He returned to the UI for a certificate in operative dentistry and a Ph.D. in oral science, which he received in 1998. He’s served as interim DEO for operative dentistry since July 2011.

Julie Holloway

Julie Holloway was appointed DEO of the Department of Prosthodontics effective March 9, after serving several months as interim DEO. She joined the college last year.

Prior to her Iowa arrival, Holloway served on the restorative dentistry and prosthodontics faculty at Ohio State University from 1993-2011. She directed the department’s advanced prosthodontics graduate education program from 2009-11.
